The flakes of snow fall softly,
And cover my sadness,
With their tenacious icy grip,
So that I forget my fear,
And sleep like the frozen ground,
In senseless frigid dreams.
Deep within a heart of ice,
I’ll rest where time stops still,
And memories of painful cares,
That once were hot and fierce,
Grow slow and cold and then are gone,
Lost in a frozen eternity.
