If I could be a child again,
I think I’d jump at the chance,
To splash and jump in puddles,
And sing out loud and dance.
To dream and build imaginary worlds,
To make a mess and never mind,
To climb a tree or dig the earth,
To be a friend, not enemy with time.
But I wouldn’t choose to be a child,
In the world that we have now,
With TV and videos and ’stay inside’,
And endless family rows.
I’d go to a magic world,
Where children can be free,
And parents know how to show their love,
Unconditionally.
