Waiting is such a dreadful chore,
It is a most appalling bore,
The time just seems to drag on by,
And even though you try and try,
Not to think or dwell upon,
The passing hours that have gone,
And all the things you could have done,
And all the time to have some fun,
But you are forced to sit and wait,
It is a situation that you hate!
There seems no end to your frustration,
Your anger and your consternation,
That you should have to waste your time,
And queue up in a dreadful line,
Or perhaps just sit alone,
Waiting for the telephone,
To ring and some results to give,
That might say if you die or live.
