Children are so childish,
They’re always asking why,
Like why do cows chew grass,
Or why are clouds up in the sky.
Children are so childish,
With their silly childish ways,
They’re always exploring,
And finding out through play.
Children are so childish,
With their endless ‘make pretend’,
And using their imagination,
And having imaginary friends.
Children are so childish,
They always run around,
They need to learn that they must keep,
Their feet firm on the ground.
Children are so childish,
They always make a mess,
They jump on purpose in the wet,
They never look their best!
Children are so childish,
They wont do as they’re told,
Why cant they follow all our rules,
And learn to just grow old.
Children are so childish,
They always get upset,
Or laugh with endless joy,
At a butterfly they’ve met.
Children are so childish
I know, we’ll give them lots of tests,
Then perhaps they will finally learn,
The adult way is best.
The National Association of HeadTeachers (NAHT) is currently undertaking a ballot in favour of refusing to administer tests to primary age children.
