Hi Lesley
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and comment. Sorry to hear that your husband is going through treatment hell as well. It can be difficult keeping up that brave face at times. We all need our women folk to be with us for support. Prostate cancer affects everyone in the family as I well know.

My best wishes to you, your husband and all your family,

Chris

Dear chris, I have just read your blog and you remind me of what my husband mike is going through as well. I also deeply admire the way you are still trying, like Mike, to deal with it with some degree of humour. He has just been given abiratone and steroids and really suffering with the side effects and he looks totally knackered and ill but still he manages to use some black humour through it all. There is little else I can say except that I hope you manage to get some freedom from pain from the place you are in now.
Kind thoughts to you

Hi Chris, you asked what other options there are after Zytiga and you should look into salvestrols which are a natural treatment for advanced prostate cancer.

Thanks Julia, it's difficult when you're in a dark place to appreciate what you may have achieved. Your kind words are very welcome.

John,
Thanks for reading my blog and your very kind thoughts. I really do appreciate you taking the time to get in contact.
Writing is a form of therapy for me. I decided as soon as I was diagnosed with cancer that I would write about my experience 'warts and all'. That's not because I consider myself a good writer but that I know I am a very bad liar! I can't hide my feelings.
The thought that people might find my writing interesting, thoughtful or that it moves them in some way makes me feel quite humble. That my writing might touch people that I haven't even met is perhaps even more amazing!
Thank you again for commenting on my blog. You have touched me with your kindness.

Chris, just to say many of us are thinking of you all.

I really enjoyed singing in your 'The Selfish Giant' a few years ago (and another musical too, can't recall it's name) - thanks for that, and the many other times you've played. I recall a very moving Easter presentation at St George's near Freezywater (some years ago) - didn't know who you were then, but recognised you om the distance - and saw that you were playing for the theatre group. That was a very moving evening - made more so by the 'audience' participation which you were instrumental in(ha pun)!

Love to you and Sue at this tough time.

Dear Chris,
Another amazing piece of heart-felt writing - which deserves to be read more than once (I've already read it twice) It helps to get us all in touch with our emotions and for us all to consider what you mean to us.

To me, you are "family" and I dont have first hand knowledge of your teaching career, but I do know that in thirty-four years that's thousands of children whose lives you will have touched. We have cause to remember, respect, and be grateful to Stephen's Primary Head Teacher who was the greatest pillar of support to us - and I know there will be of parents feeling the same way about Mr Luck.

As a family you and Sue have always "been there for us"
and we are so grateful to you.

We love you lots,

Anne Paul Stephen, Fran, Ad and Toby xx
