Here is a poem I wrote for our school rememberence assembly:
I bought a poppy and wore it with pride,
As I remember the soldiers in wars that have died,
How each one who died was a father or son,
How their families didn’t care if the war was lost or was won,
For they laid down the lives for us all I can see,
So that we’d live in peace and could forever be free,
So remember the soldiers who are no longer here,
Keep them safe in your heart and their memory dear.
