Regular readers of my blog will know that I am not enamored of the travel insurance industry. My experience has been to date very negative with ridiculously inflated premiums and unhelpful staff. My attempts to obtain travel insurance for a recent trip to Crete resulted in quotes for travel insurance that were more expensive than the holiday! As a result I have had to travel abroad without any insurance and I wonder how many other sufferers have felt obliged to do the same. It’s not just the inconvenience. Not having access to reasonable insurance cover with reasonable premiums just adds to the feeling of being different from everyone else and excluded from normal society.
So it was with great pleasure that I was approached by someone called Fiona Macrae who has set up an insurance business called Insurewith specifically to cater for cancer patients or indeed anyone with a pre-existing condition. Fiona is a cancer sufferer herself and so knows all about the problems of getting travel insurance.
I visited the Insurewith website (click on the logo to access or type http://www.insurancewith.com/) and was pleased to find a very well organized and simple to use insurance website providing a range of travel insurance including cruise insurance, winter sports travel insurance, long stay travel insurance as well as single trip insurance. The premiums seemed reasonable and, best of all, there is the option to choose insurance without the pre-existing medical cover. It is a delight to see that someone has responded so positively to the needs of people with pre existing medical conditions and created a useful and well designed resource. I would recommend any cancer sufferer looking for travel insurance to visit Insurewith first.
Last year I did feel at one point that it would simply not be possible for me to travel abroad again but with reasonable insurance premiums a world of possibilities has opened up. I would have no hesitation using Insurewith next year for my holidays and now I can start planning all the wonderful trips I’ll be going on!

Hi Chris> Nice to recieve your academic accollade. Also your isurance tip seems very favourable. When I was in The Dominican Republic in March I was on a wing and a prayer through Barclays insurance. Of course it would not cover my illness. But at least it paid for a doctor when I had food poisoning. Noticed in the press today that Alex Higgins died via 10 year BATTLE with Ca. Dont you just hate that word!!!!!!!!!!
Makes me very angry.I dont think I have a battle more trying to get my head round daily events. ” Can I do it, Do I want to do it, Or do I just lay on the bed with my head spinning. Sound familiar?. Sometimes I feel so angry with abled bodied people. Tearfull, headspinning, Morphine induced mindbending, Just want to be by myself, stuff. Well PSA time tommorow. Then the Grim Reaper will put me Chemo prob. Keep up the Good work Chris. Prob the best most honest Prostate Ca blog on the Net.
